One of the calculators gave an additional firgure – 64 kg as the exact measure of the ideal weight for this height, so we can safely narrow the range of our preferences from 62 to 68 kg.

Another measure if you are within or outside the healthy norm is the Body Mass Index (BMI). It is the correlation between height and weight and depending on this index, your weight is classified as Normal, Overweight, Obese, or Extreme Obese. Still, BMI is not a diagnosis by your physician and is not a reason to start a severe diet right away. It is just a lamp that flashes to warn you that not everything is in order.

Your lifestyle is also a factor, related to your weight. It might sound unfair, but if you are physically active, it is normal to be a little bit heavier than somebody who is the same height, age as you and has the same BMI. The explanation is simple – your muscles weight more than your fat. Not literally of course – a pound is always a pound – but if you have more muscles and are more active, you are „allowed“ to be a few pounds (or kiligrams) heavier and still you are not exceeding the ideal weight limit.

This does not mean that you can do without any exercise; rather, if the purpose of your fat loss program is, for example, to be able to put a short skirt on, relying only on exercise without proper diet is unlikely to bring you the desired results.

The first adjustment that you need to make to your diet is to reduce the daily input of calories. The second, also important adjustment is to reduce drastically the fats in your diet. Completely excluding the fats is not good. Reducing the daily input of fats three or four times is sufficient for most people.
